Terms of Service

NOTAGHOST.JOBS (OPC) PRIVATE LIMITED, Bengaluru · effective 6 November 2026 · replaces the terms of 2 November 2026

The short version, which does not replace the long one.Ghosted tells you whether a job posting looks like real hiring and helps you present what you have actually done. It does not find you a job, apply for you, speak to employers for you, or promise that anyone will reply. A verdict is our reasoned opinion from facts we can read, not a fact about the employer. Paid plans are prepaid shots with a short validity; the number we promise before a shot is the number we deliver; once a shot is spent there is no refund. You are responsible for the truth of everything you tell us about yourself.

1. Who we are, and these terms

Ghosted is operated by NOTAGHOST.JOBS (OPC) PRIVATE LIMITED (CIN U78100KA2026OPC229345), a one-person company incorporated in India with its registered office at 303, Kemps Avenue, Vidya Nagar, Pai Layout, Krishnarajapuram R S, Bengaluru 560016, Karnataka ("Ghosted", "we", "us"). These terms govern your use of notaghost.jobs, the Ghosted Chrome extension, our WhatsApp number +91 88679 06787, our Telegram channel, and every product we offer through them (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Notice, which forms part of them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What Ghosted is — and is not

What it is. A free check (the "Ghost Meter") that reads a job posting and the facts around it and gives an opinion — Real, Caution or Ghost — on whether the posting looks like active hiring; and a paid tool (Sharpen) that scores a résumé against a posting the way a screening system would and help you present your own experience in the language of that posting.

What it is not. We say this plainly because the job market is full of promises:

3. Who may use it

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract under Indian law. The Service is built for people searching for work in India; you may use it from elsewhere, but it is offered under Indian law and we make no promise that it suits any other place. One account is one natural person. You may not use the Service for someone else except with their knowledge, on their behalf and with their résumé only.

4. Accounts and sign-in

Your account is your mobile number, verified by a one-time code sent on WhatsApp, or created when you message our WhatsApp number. You are responsible for the device and number you use and for every action taken through them. Tell us at once at human@notaghost.jobs if you believe someone else is using your account. We may refuse, suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that we reasonably believe is automated or shared, or that is used to harm the Service or others.

5. The free check

Anyone may run three checks without signing in. After that, sign-in is required, and a signed-in person may run five free checks a day. These limits are counted per person and per device and may change; the current limits are shown in the product. A paid plan makes the check unlimited for the plan's validity. The free check is for people, not programs: see Acceptable use.

6. Plans, prices and validity

Prices are in Indian rupees, shown before payment, and do not change after it. Shots and checks that are not used within the validity lapse and are not carried forward, transferred, or refunded. A plan belongs to the person whose résumé it was bought with and cannot be transferred. Buying a new plan while one is active ends the earlier plan. We may change prices and plan contents for future purchases at any time; a purchase already made is honoured on the terms shown at the time of purchase.

7. Launch offer

From 6 November 2026 to 23:59 IST on 15 November 2026, Sharpen is offered at ₹499 instead of its list price of ₹999 ("Launch offer · 50% off"). The offer applies to purchases completed in that window, is not transferable, cannot be combined with any other offer, and carries the same ten shots and ten-day validity as Sharpen at list price. We may end or extend the offer; a purchase already made at the offer price is unaffected.

8. How a shot works

One shot is one posting. Before a shot is spent, the Service shows you, for that posting: the fit your résumé shows today; every requirement in the posting we could not find in your résumé, each of which you may answer; and, after your answers, the fit we commit to deliver (the "promised number"). This is the point of decision, and it is yours.

9. Payments and refunds

Payments are collected by Razorpay under its own terms; we never see or store your card, UPI or bank details. A receipt is sent on WhatsApp and is available in your account.

Refund policy. Plans are prepaid digital services delivered immediately. Because the number is shown before every shot and every shot is final once spent, we do not offer refunds for spent shots, for unused shots, for lapsed validity, or for change of mind. We will refund in full, to the original payment method within 7 working days, where: (a) you were charged and no plan was activated; (b) you were charged more than once for one purchase; or (c) a payment was made from your account without your authority, provided you tell us within 7 days. Write to human@notaghost.jobs with the receipt. Nothing in this section limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 that cannot be excluded.

Tax. Prices are inclusive of all applicable taxes. The supplier is not currently registered under GST; if that changes, prices shown at the time of purchase will be the prices charged.

10. Truth, and what you stand behind

Everything we write rests on a fact in your résumé or a fact you typed in answer to a question. We do not invent employers, dates, tools, titles, numbers, outcomes or qualifications, and we will not do so on request. In return:

11. Verdicts, employers and the reader

A verdict is an opinion about a posting, not a statement about an employer. It is formed deterministically from facts we can read: the text of the posting; whether and when the role appears on the employer's own hiring system; how long it has been open, how often it has been reposted and whether copies exist; and aggregated, anonymised reply patterns from people who have used the Service. The same facts always produce the same verdict; a verdict changes only when a fact does. A verdict may be wrong — the employer's system may lag, a role may close an hour after we read it, a posting may be real for reasons we cannot see. We do not warrant that any verdict is accurate, complete or current, and you should not treat it as the only basis for a decision.

We never name an employer as ghosting. Verdicts describe postings. Public figures we publish are counts from our database and never identify a person, a candidate, or an employer's conduct.

The reader. We read publicly available job postings from employers' own careers systems and, only when you hand us a posting, from job boards. We read openly, identify ourselves, honour each site's robots rules and rate limits, store only posting data, and never log in anywhere or read anything behind a sign-in. If you are an employer or a site operator and want to discuss how we read your pages, write to human@notaghost.jobs.

12. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Service by automated means, scripts, bots, or bulk submission; scrape, crawl, copy, resell, or build a dataset or competing service from verdicts, counts or any part of the Service; share, lend or pool an account or plan; submit anyone else's résumé or personal data without their consent; submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes anyone's rights; probe, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Service, its security, or its rate limits; misrepresent Ghosted, our verdicts, or your relationship with us to any employer or third party; or use the Service in breach of any law or of the terms of the job board or employer site a posting came from. We may suspend or close accounts, and withhold access, where we reasonably believe this section has been breached.

13. The extension, WhatsApp and Telegram

Chrome extension. The extension shows the Ghost Meter on job-posting pages of the boards it supports. It reads only the posting you have open, sends its address and text to our service to produce a verdict, automates nothing, and acts for no one. It is offered under these terms and the Chrome Web Store's policies, and may be removed at any time from your browser's extensions page.

WhatsApp. Our number is a verified business account on the WhatsApp Business Platform operated by Meta. By messaging it you consent to receive our replies, sign-in codes, receipts and document-ready notices on WhatsApp. We send nothing unsolicited and no marketing without your opt-in; reply STOP at any time to stop all messages except transactional ones you request. WhatsApp's own terms apply to your use of WhatsApp.

Telegram. Our channel publishes counts and roles. It is one-way; nothing you post elsewhere on Telegram reaches us, and we never message Telegram users first.

14. Third-party services

The Service runs on third-party infrastructure and services, each under its own terms: Razorpay (payments), Meta / WhatsApp Business Platform (messaging), Supabase (database), Render (hosting), Google (Chrome Web Store, fonts) and Anthropic (the language model that translates your facts into a posting's language; it does not train on your data). Job boards and employer sites are third parties we do not control. We are not responsible for their availability, content, or conduct.

15. Intellectual property

The Service — its name, mark, design, software, verdict rules, database, counts and text — belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use it as these terms allow. Your résumé and your answers remain yours; you grant us only the licence needed to run the Service for you, as described in the Privacy Notice. Documents we deliver are yours to use for your own job search; the method that produced them is ours. Employers' and boards' names and marks remain theirs.

16. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee it. Readings of employers' systems may be delayed; models and third-party services may fail; we may suspend the Service for maintenance or to protect it. We may change, add or withdraw features. If a change materially reduces what a paid plan provides during its validity, we will extend the validity or refund the unused portion, at our choice.

17. Disclaimers and limits of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of verdicts, fit numbers, counts and documents. We are not liable for any decision you take in reliance on the Service, for any employer's action or inaction, for lost opportunities, income or profits, or for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss. Our total liability to you for all claims arising from the Service in any twelve-month period shall not exceed the amount you paid us in that period, or ₹499, whichever is greater. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

18. Your responsibility to us

You will indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms, from untrue information you supply, from your use of a document we deliver, or from your use of the Service in breach of any third party's rights or terms.

19. Ending the relationship

You may stop using the Service at any time and may ask us to delete your account as described in the Privacy Notice. We may suspend or close your account for breach of these terms, for suspected fraud or automation, or where the law requires. On closure your unused shots lapse; amounts already paid are not refunded except as section 9 provides. Sections 10, 11, 15, 17, 18 and 21 survive closure.

20. Complaints and grievance officer

If something has gone wrong, write first to human@notaghost.jobs; a person reads every message. In line with the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, our Grievance Officer is:

Karthikeyan Ramakrishnan, Grievance Officer

Subject to any non-excludable right you have to bring a consumer complaint where you live, the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from the Service. These terms are an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and need no physical signature.

22. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top changes when we do, and material changes are announced in the product or on WhatsApp before they apply to you. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance. Purchases are governed by the terms in force when they were made.
